Our firm (“Park Patents”) is an IP (Intellectual Property) boutique firm specialized in patent and trademark laws and all areas of intellectual property laws, and has its main office in New Jersey, US. Our firm was established in the year of 2006 with the initial name of “Tuchman & Park, LLC”, and changed to the current firm of “Park & Associates IP Law Office” in the year of 2008.
Our firm has experienced and competent lawyers specialized in patent and trademark laws and other intellectual property areas. We are highly honored to serve many international clients, especially Korean clients, and assist them in obtaining strong and competent intellectual properties, such as patents, trademarks, and copyrights, in the U.S. and other countries. We also consult the clients to resolve their intellectual property related issues. In the field of patent law for instance, we provide high quality professional services to properly serve our clients’ needs by assigning qualified patent lawyers according to their specialty areas which include mechanics, electro-mechanics, electric and electronics, semiconductors, computer and telecommunication, software, material engineering, chemical and bio science, pharmaceutical, etc.
Our firm is managed by our representative managing attorney, Park, Hyun-Jong Esq., who has a long experience in U.S. and international patent and trademark practices, including filing applications and prosecuting patents in the United States and foreign countries, patentability and trademark registerability investigations, rendering validity and infringement opinions, intellectual property licensing, and counseling all phases of patent, trademark and intellectual property laws.
Representative Attorney (Hyun Jong Park, Esq.)
Hyun Jong Park is the managing partner of our firm, Park & Associates Intellectual Property Law Office. Mr. Park’s practice focuses on patent law and trademark law, including prosecuting patents in the United States and foreign countries, patentability investigations, rendering validity and infringement opinions, intellectual property licensing, and counseling all phases of intellectual property law. He is admitted in all courts of the State of New York, and U.S. Patent and Trademark Office (Attorney Reg. No. 59,093).
Mr. Park has extensive experience in patent and trademark prosecutions, and intellectual property licensing in the United States, Korea, Japan, and European countries. He regularly files and prosecutes patent and trademark applications in the United States and foreign countries, and conducts intellectual property searches, investigations, counseling, and rendering legal opinions in all areas of intellectual property law, including patentability opinions, patent and trademark validity opinions, infringement/non-infringement opinions, etc. He also assists domestic and international clients to protect their patents, trademarks, and other intellectual property rights and also to secure the client’s freedom to practice and use their products against competitors’ patents and intellectual property rights.
Mr. Park received his Master of Intellectual Property degree in 1996 and Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree in 1998, respectively, from Franklin Pierce Law Center, New Hampshire, USA. He received his B.S. degree in Mechanical Engineering in 1985 from Busan National University, Korea. Prior to establishing his former law firm of Tuchman & Park LLC in 2006, Mr. Park worked as a senior patent attorney at St. Onge Steward Johnston & Reens LLC, Connecticut, and Dilworth and Barrese LLP, New York. He also has extensive experience in the industries as an engineer, manager, and senior manager in research departments and also in intellectual property departments. Before entering law school in the United States, Mr. Park served as General Manager of the Intellectual Property Department for one of Samsung group companies in South Korea.
Mr. Park has technical expertise in mechanical engineering, automobile, complex mechanical apparatus and devices, consumer goods, medical instruments, metal and materials, electro/opto-mechanical engineering, semiconductors and lead-frames, chemical engineering, and internet and business methods. He is a Korean native, fluent in both English and Korean, and can also read and translate Japanese.
